For people looking to complete their
Yachtmaster Offshore / Ocean certification this is the trip for you.
For people who have limited sailing experience but want to have an Offshore Adventure, welcome aboard as well.
Our trip is the 3500+nm. return to Vancouver from Lahaina after the Vic-Maui race.
For those seeking Yachtmaster certification please check your logbooks or give us a call to make sure your prerequisites are complete.
If you are not looking for certification but are interested in being part of this adventure, you should have some basic skills but extensive previous experience is not required.
The Offshore crew will be welcome to all of the post race parties and activities in Lahaina as well as participating in crew practices prior to the Vic-Maui race. You will be an integral part of our race programme.
During the cruise/course we will deal with various topics such as navigation, heavy weather sailing, crew overboard procedures, as well as fire and safety drills. It is essential that you are able to sail with us prior to the race -- within reason, you may join in on any of our cruises at no extra cost.
We will be working through the ISPA course books and people will be able to proceed through the modules at their own speed. Certification level will depend upon work completed and skills demonstrated.
The cost of the programme is $4000.00. This is all inclusive - food, fuel, safety gear, and bedding are provided. In addition, the course materials for the Yachtmaster Offshore course is provided as well as the Yachtmaster Ocean course. There will be an additional charge for those requiring previous ISPA courses.
