HOWE SOUND 3 Day Cruise This is our venue for a 3 day Introduction course or The Basic or Intermediate challenge programme.

For new sailors, the Howe Sound cruise is an introduction to Cruising -

This 3 day course is designed to give people a feel of what it is like to live aboard as well as have the chance to get off the boat and stretch their legs. Some people find that they prefer to stay on the boat - explore in the dinghy, swim, or just soak up the sun. Others like to visit the marine pubs and various shops near the docks. Once we know what style of cruise people like, it is easy for us to recommend a specific cruise/destination that is tailored to their preferences.   
The Howe Sound Intensive programme is for people who have extensive sailing experience and are seeking certification. The course is limited to 3 students at a time.   

For certification courses, your Instructor will have a specific programme to suit your course.

Sailing plan: -- Introduction cruise

Day 1

0900 - Depart Vancouver - Depending upon winds, proceed to Howe Sound via inside or outside route - introduction to sailing and navigation.

1200 - Lunch - sandwiches on board. Sail around Bowen or Gambier Islands. Additional sail handling exercises - MOB procedures.

1600 - Anchor in West Bay or Centre Bay - anchoring considerations.

1700 - Happy hour - swimming, rowing, exploring

1800 - Dinner

2000 - Route planning for next days

Day 2

0800 - Breakfast

0900 - Up anchor - day of sailing exercises - explore Howe Sound

1200 - Lunch

1600 - Dock at Snug Cove - explore ashore

1800 - Dinner aboard

2300 - Check out Pub

Day 3

0800 - Breakfast

0900 - Depart Snug Cove for day of sailing

1600 - Arrive Vancouver
